Tracking student acknowledgements
The acknowledgement system gives you the documented evidence that each student has read the required material: a key requirement for EASA ATO audits. Here's how to use it effectively.
What is an acknowledgement?
When a student marks a section as read, the system records:
- Their user ID and name.
- The exact section of the manual they acknowledged (title, version, page range).
- The date and time of acknowledgement.
- The device type used (desktop or mobile).
Tip: This creates an immutable audit record. Even if you later update the manual, the acknowledgement record permanently references the version that was current when the student read it.
Viewing acknowledgement status
The full acknowledgement overview is at Training โ Acknowledgements. You can filter by programme, phase, lesson, or individual student.
- 1Go to Training โ Acknowledgements.
- 2Use the Programme and Student dropdowns to filter the view.
- 3Green rows indicate complete acknowledgement; yellow indicates partial; red indicates no acknowledgement.
Sending reminders
Students who haven't completed their assigned reading can be nudged with an in-app notification.
- 1Filter the acknowledgement view to show outstanding items.
- 2Select the students you want to remind.
- 3Click Send reminder.
- 4Students receive a notification on their next login (or immediately if they're logged in).
Exporting acknowledgement records
For audits, you can export a complete acknowledgement report as a CSV or PDF.
- 1Go to Training โ Acknowledgements.
- 2Set the filters to the scope you need (e.g. all students in a specific programme).
- 3Click Export.
- 4Choose CSV (for spreadsheet analysis) or PDF (for printing or filing).
Instructor sign-offs
Beyond student self-acknowledgement, instructors can record a sign-off confirming they witnessed or verified a student's understanding of a section. Sign-offs appear as a separate column in the acknowledgement export.
